Instructions

ACES memberships are for one year and on an anniversary cycle. The day you join is your expiration date the following year. Renewals are not automatic unless you select "auto renewal" in your membership account.

Industry you work in: Please select from both: the industry dropdown and the boxes under the "Lists/Committees" section. Select as many industries as needed. We are still working on changing the label to "Choose your industry."

Log in to the member center/Info Hub. Select "My Billing Info" from the left menu bar to find your invoice.

Associate $150 Annually

Those interested in editing but who have no professional background in the craft. Writers are also welcome.

Full $150 Annually

Our most common membership type and what makes up most of our membership. Editors working in academia, book publishing, corporations, education, freelance, government, marketing, publications, nonprofits, and retirees from these categories. These members are entitled to vote in elections and run for society executive positions.

Student $70 Annually

Full- or part-time students enrolled at accredited colleges and universities who are pursuing a course of study leading to an associate’s, bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree. Enrollments in classes for added professional development, including certificate training programs and courses offered through ACES and Poynter, are not eligible for student status.

Corporate (Minimum of 3 Employees)

Corporate memberships are annual and for a group of at least three applicants at the same company. The rate is $150 per person, and the total dues are calculated based on the number of participants entered. A group must have one person designated as the primary contact to facilitate paying dues and membership management. Memberships are held in the name of each employee, and the company retains the membership and the right to reassign as needed.
